Our Mission
Lowder Orthodontics is proud to announce that our Springdale Office recently completed the rebranding of Dr. Tom Lowder’s Orthodontic Practice and is now incorporating the unique MRC Clinics approach. Dr Lowder continues to offer a range of techniques and approaches to your orthodontic treatment. The MRC Clinics approach is to provide to our patients the best possible treatment using the most up to date and proven methods, materials and equipment; emphasising prevention of malocclusions as a higher ideal than the actual treatment of it. The philosophy will best be achieved in a working environment where we recognize the patient as being the most important person in the practice and were we work in an ethical and responsible manner in an environment of teamwork with mutual respect for each other’s abilities and functions. Our mission is to educate, to treat and support growing children and their parents in their endeavor to grow and develop good health, attractive faces, well balanced jaws and straight teeth.
Returned Checks
All checks returned to us by your bank for insufficient funds will result in a charge of $25.00 and is due immediately, including the amount of your check. If more than two checks are returned to us, payments will then need to be made my cash, money order or certified check.
Appointment Times
Since many of our patients are of school age, it is impossible to see all patients after school. Because most appointments are scheduled 4-10 weeks apart, most patients will miss minimal school during treatment. We will make a sincere effort to accommodate your schedule, however, you may be required to alternate morning and afternoon appointments. Morning appointments may be required for placement or removal of braces or other lengthy procedures.
Broken Appointments
We schedule the allotted time for your appointment so that we can fully devote our attention to your treatment. This time is valuable to us, as well as you as to you, the patient. We realize that there will be times when circumstances make it difficult for you to keep an appointment. We ask that you give us 24-hours notice when you are going to miss or need to reschedule an appointment.
Due to the excessive amounts of missed appointments, we have had to re-evaluate our policy. If you do not show up for an appointment, and do not give us the 24-hours notice, this appointment will be considered "broken." If an after-school appointment is broken, you will not be offered any subsequent afternoon appointments. After three broken appointments, we reserve the right to discontinue treatment or charge a fee per recurring broken appointment. Remember, missed appointments extend overall treatment time. We want to see your beautiful, new smile as soon as possible, and we know you do, too!
Office Visits/Retention
Periodic follow-ups, including retainer checks, are included in your treatment fee for one year. Remember, your smile is a life-long investment, so please take advantage of these appointments at no charge, except in the event of a lost or broken retainer. After one year of retention, standard office visit charges will apply.
Your Dentist
It is very important that a cleaning and exam, along with any necessary fillings, must be completed before braces are placed. During treatment, it is your responsibility to keep regular 6-month check-ups with your dentist. This will aid in great oral hygiene throughout treatment.
Breakage
If a bracket or band breaks or becomes loose, please notify our office. Continual breakage may cause a delay in treatment time. There will be a charge of $25.00 for each broken bracket or band after three occurrences or three or more brackets at an appointment.
Cooperation
To obtain the best possible result, it is important to keep regular appointments. Unsupervised orthodontics may cause harm to the teeth. The patient must follow the "Orthodontic No-No List" provided at the beginning of treatment because these things will contribute to breakage. The gums and teeth must be kept clean to avoid cavities and permanent damage. Instructions for elastics and other appliances must be followed. If not followed, all of these items can cause a delay in treatment. If cooperation does not improve, we may choose to remove any fixed appliances and discontinue treatment. Patients who take responsibility for their treatment always have superior results. We want that to be you!
