Treatment Times
Generally visits are monthly for the first 6 to 8 months. Patients will visit MRC Clinics® around 9 to 10 times in the first year. If patient compliance is good then monthly visits may be changed to every second month in the second year.
It is important to attend the regular MRC TRAINER™ Activities Sessions to ensure all activities are being performed regularly and correctly. If a third year of treatment is required, patients will need to visit MRC Clinics® approximately 4 to 6 times.
If the alignment of the front teeth is not satisfactory, treatment with braces may be required. There is an extra fee for this, and monthly visits to check the braces will apply. Usually this will last for no longer than 6 months.
Fee Structure
The group education sessions are held once a month and are free of charge. However for a one on one consult appointment where the Oral Health Therapist or MRC Clinics® dentist provides further information, evaluates the child and writes a detailed treatment plan, fees apply. This consult fee varies with age and the detail of the treatment plan.
Upon evaluation consultation, an exact fee structure for the course of treatment will be provided. Treatment fees will vary depending on the number of visits, the child's compliance with the appliance, application to the activities and how quickly the child responds to the treatment.
Generally, the treatment fee includes all future appliances required in the treatment except for braces (if needed). Replacement of lost appliances also incurs an extra charge. The only subsequent charge is the fee per visit which is outlined in the treatment plan fee schedule.
Initial fees are to be paid at the appointment where the first appliances are fitted.
